“On the field, Ajayi rapidly developed from a fifth-round pick in 2015 into a Pro Bowler and one of the league’s top tailbacks.
With that success, the London-born star extended his reach off the field and is now the face of the NFL in the United Kingdom.”

The Story
Pro Bowl Running Back Philadelphia Eagles
“Jay” Ajayi was born in the North London borough of Hackney in 1993. He and his family relocated to TX in 2000 and didn’t take long before he learned about the game of American football. A longtime Arsenal fan and standout soccer player at the time, Ajayi was an immediate impact player on the football field. He chose to focus on football his junior year of high school and has never looked back.
At Boise State, Ajayi led the nation in scoring as a junior and posted an All-American career ranking in the top 10 in school history across nine categories including touchdowns (No. 2), rushing yards (No. 4), and scoring (No. 5).
Ajayi was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the 2015 NFL Draft and went on to post 1,272 rushing yards (third-most in Dolphins single-season history), and three games with over 200 rushing yards in his second season (2016). Jay also earned Pro Bowl honors. Acquired by the Philadelphia Eagles in a trade in October 2017, Jay picked up where he left off and propelled the team to a Super Bowl LII victory.
Off the field, Ajayi has quickly become the face of the NFL and American football throughout the United Kingdom. He is an official NFL International Ambassador and the only skill position player to compete in the league. Ajayi has done numerous publicity tours, fan forums, and community events throughout the region. During Super Bowl LI, Ajayi joined the pre and in-game broadcast teams for both BBC and Sky Sports. Leading up to his homecoming debut at Wembley Stadium in 2016, he also became the first NFL player to have his own Twitter Emoji, #JayTrain.
